I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
